ASUG/SAPPHIRE 2011 is here already. It's one of the highlights of my year, because I get to talk to so many customers about their business cases, data problems, use cases, and the successes they've had with technology. That's a pretty good way to spend a few days!
Because the agenda is massive, I'm outlining a few key events/sessions to attend. The event kicks off a day early. C'mon, all the cool kids are there on Sunday! Pre-conference deep-dives abound, but I love the Business Analytics and Technology Customer Council. We discuss roadmaps and future priorities. We hear from key customers on key data challenges in their business.
On Monday, we begin the march of the keynotes. You can not only hear from scientist Dr. Michio Kaku, but you get to finish up the day with Michael Eisner. More details on all of the keynotes
Also on Monday, I'm co-hosting a micro-forum with Johnson & Johnson: "A Day in the Life - Data Management Scenario with Johnson & Johnson" at the EIM Campus on the SAPPHIRE show floor. I highly recommend this one, because you get to meet Terry from J&J. He is a ball of energy (and smart, too)...you'll certainly leave this session invigorated! That's 10:30 - 11:15. From 3 - 4 you can catch John Fiske talking about "Embedding Content Management in SAP Business Processes"--a key part of information governance! We finish up Monday with an SAP EIM and Utopia reception at the Rosen Centre. Oh, and you can win a Kindle. You do need to RSVP, so contact Kristin.McMahon@sap.com if you are interested. Who wouldn't be interested, seriously?
Tuesday is jam-packed. I have another micro-forum session in the EIM Campus from 11-11:45 Tuesday that answers a super-popular question: "Data Governance: Where Do I Start?". After that roundtable, dash right over to the Data Governance Community Lounge, where we talk about all things Data Governance with our 12,000+ member-strong ASUG Special Interest Group.
You'll have time to grab some lunch before heading over to "Information Governance and the Role of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Information Management Solutions" with Michael Briles and me at 1:45. Then we have another 2 hours of direct customer conversation and influence with first the EIM Influence Council (3-4), and then the MDM Influence Council (4:15 - 5).
I know your focus on Wednesday is just making it to the Sting concert. But there's lots of good EIM and Information Governance content on Wednesday, too. At 11:30, two smart ladies from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and I will talk about "Information Governance in Insurance: How to Establish Your Organization, and How to Grow in Smart Ways". Also, at 2:45 the mastermind, Angel Sasso from The Campbell Soup Company and I, will talk about "Information Governance: Nurturing Your Business in an Ever-Changing Environment". Finish off the day with another micro-forum session in the EIM Campus from Newell Rubbermaid called "Analytics That Drive Real-Time Business at Newell Rubbermaid".
Join us! I'd love to meet you in person and hear your thoughts on EIM and Information Governance!
